Just when you think you've made it through the hardest part...

Jared has been having more problems with his ringworm rash.  The spots on his head were looking bad again so I took him to the doctor again Tuesday.  When the PA came to see Jared, she looked at his head then walked out into the hallway.  She returned with another doctor.  A third doctor joined a few minutes later.  I'm glad she asked for help because the first doctor seemed to know what was going on and what to do to help Jared.  Then he got all excited!  He explained that Jared has kerions.  They are blisters that form under the ringworm patches as the body's defense to try and pull the infection away from the body.  They look like huge goose-eggs on his head with circle patches (the ringworm) on top of them.  Now the kerions are draining.  Yes, it's disgusting!  ...and painful for Jared.  It's also a good thing we are on spring break or he would be missing his third straight week of school.

At the pediatrician's visit, the doctor kept saying to the others, "Look at this, feel how boggy it is." 
"Go get the student.  She has to see this.  Have her feel it."
"Where's the student?  This is great!  She could work another ten years and not see anything like this again!"

I'm always proud when my child is special, but really, I'd rather not be this special.  Can he just get better already?

We appreciate everyone's prayers for Jared's quick recovery.  We are also praying that his hair will grow back after the spots have healed.
