This week was my mother-in-law's birthday so we went to eat at an all-you-can-eat buffet. We explained to the kids that they could take their plates and put whatever they wanted on it. Jared was being very selective about what he put on his plate, not wanting to waste the opportunity to have something good. Finally, I explained to him that at this kind of restaurant, he could get whatever he wanted, as much as he wanted, and he could come back as often as he wanted. He got the biggest grin on his face and said, "This place is so AWESOME!" Every time he or Kendra would come to the table with a new plate of food, they would be smiling with delight at being able to pick out all the food they wanted. (Jared even licked his plate because we told him he needed to take a clean plate each time he went back for more). It was absolutely delightful to share that experience with them.
